Petitions for readmission must be received by the Counseling Center no later than ten working days prior to the start of the semester for which you wish to be readmitted. (LRCCD Regulation 2231.4.2) Please allow ten working days for processing.

What is Academic/Progress Probation and Dismissal?
A student is placed on academic probation if the student has attempted at least 12 units and earned a grade point average below 2.0 in all units that were graded. A student on academic probation may be subject to counselor intervention.
A student who has enrolled in a total of at least 12 semester units is placed on progress probation when the percentage of all units in which a student has enrolled, and for which entries of W, I and NC/NP are recorded, reaches or exceeds 50 percent of all units attempted. A student on progress probation may be subject to counselor intervention.
A student on either academic or progress probation may be limited to 12 or fewer units, or to a course load recommended by the student's counselor.
Beginning with summer/fall 2014 registration, students who are placed on academic or progress probation for two consecutive terms will no longer receive priority registration. Registration will be possible after all qualified new and continuing students in good standing. Please click here to access the “Loss of Priority Registration Appeal Form” via our Admissions webpage.
Beginning with fall 2016 registration, students who are placed on academic or progress probation for two consecutive terms will no longer be eligible to receive a California Promise Grant . Appeal and possibly have your California Promise Grant reinstated.
A student on academic probation is removed from probation and acquires good standing when the student's cumulative grade point average (GPA) is 2.0 or higher. A student on progress probation is removed from probation and placed in good standing status when the percentage of units with entries of W, I and NC/NP drops below fifty (50) percent of all units attempted. A student on academic probation is subject to dismissal when the student earns a cumulative grade point average of less than 2.0 in all graded units in at least three successive semesters.
A student on progress probation is subject to dismissal if the percentage of units in which the student has been enrolled for which entries W, I and NC/NP are recorded reaches or exceeds 50 percent in at least three successive semesters.
A dismissed student may petition to the Dean of Counseling and Student Services for permission to enroll if the student feels that the cause for dismissal is due to circumstances that are now resolved or remedied. The burden of written documentation in support of these circumstances remains with the student. A dismissed student must attend a readmit workshop and meet with a counselor to initiate a readmit petition.
