What are your three greatest strengths? I am proud of my ability to apply my knowledge. I love working with people of all backgrounds and meeting them where they are. I am an advocate for social change.

What would be your words of wisdom for students in finding their own career path?
No matter where you are in your career path, it is important to be approachable. Whether you are a CEO or a student looking for their very first job, it makes a difference when people can communicate with you effectively. A pleasant conversation is more memorable than a list of accomplishments that you may rant off to an employer. It is also good to stay open to the possibilities that come your way. Doing internships, trying out different jobs, participating in community events - these things not only allow you to learn a lot of useful information and build new transferable skills, but you will also have the opportunity to network with a variety of individuals, make new friends, and find possible future employment. You have the opportunity to do all that while at the same time serving your community. American River College (ARC) provided a strong foundation for my career. After randomly taking a job at the Counseling Center, I discovered that I want to be an Academic Counselor and I enjoy working with and helping college students. ARC has a wide variety of excellent support staff and faculty. Take time to get to know them and utilize the services they provide. I found my mentors and support at ARC and you can find yours too!
