Your responsibilities are:
  1. To understand your ARC eligibility requirements.
  2. To develop a Student Athlete Education Plan.
  3. To follow your education plan and update it every semester.
  4. To check in with an Athletic Counselor if anything changes.


 

ARC Eligibility Requirements

Determine your athletic eligibility requirements for ARC athletic programs.

 

First Season of Participation

  • The student athlete must be enrolled in and attending a minimum of twelve (12) units.  Nine (9) of those units must be "academic" (i.e. units other than physical activity and/or work experience units).

  • The student athlete must have a comprehensive education plan on file by October 15th for Fall sports and by March 15th for Spring sports to continue competing. 

  • ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:  Second Sport - If a student athlete competed in any other intercollegiate sport prior to his or her first season of participation in the current sport, he or she must have a cumulative 2.0 GPA starting from the term of his or her first intercollegiate sport.

Second Season of Participation

  • Prior to the first day of the semester in which the sport is conducted, the student athlete must:

1. Passed twenty four (24) units with a minimum  2.0 GPA.

2. Eighteen (18) of the twenty four (24) units must be considered "academic" coursework (i.e. no activity and/or work experience units).

  • The student athlete must have a comprehensive education plan on file by October 15th for Fall sports and by March 15th for Spring sports to continue competing. 

  • ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:  Residency - Any student athlete who has competed at another California Community College and then transfers to ARC to compete must establish "residency" at ARC by earning twelve (12) units prior to the first day of the semester in which the sport is conducted.  When completing the twelve (12) required units, a maximum of eight (8) units may be completed during the summer session immediately preceding the term for competition.
