Where do I turn in my Journey application?

Applications can be filled out and submitted online

Where is the Journey Office?

The Journey office is in the ARC New Student Center Building inside the Hub near Starbucks on the American River College campus. 

What is a first generation student?

You are a first generation student if neither of your parents has completed a 4-year degree. You still qualify as a first generation student if your siblings, aunt, uncle, or other relative other than your mother or father has obtained a 4-year degree.

I don't know if my family is low income, what income levels qualify?

The Federal government determines the income levels that qualify. We accepted the Board of Governors (BOG) Fee Waiver as verification of low income status for our program. For further information, please see below for a qualifying income chart.

Is there a Journey brochure?

How do I become a peer mentor?

Print and fill out the Peer Mentor Application and turn it in to the Journey office along with your transcript and resume. The application will only be available when there is an open peer mentor position.

Can I be a Journey student and a peer mentor at the same time?

Yes, but you must apply for each seperately. The peer mentor application will only be available when there is an open peer mentor position.

I am an Advanced Ed student, can I be a part of Journey?

No. Journey is for American River students who are no longer in High School.

I asked my counselor/instructor about Journey and they had never heard of it, why is that?

Journey is a new program at ARC, so some people are still getting acquainted with us. For now the best way to get your Journey questions answered is to check out our website, call us at 484-8489, or visit us in portable 605 to speak with us in person.
