If you are a male student under the age of 26, then you are required to register with the Selective Service in order to be eligible for federal financial aid. To access the Selective Service Web site and register, click here.
If you are over age 26 and have not registered for Selective Service, then you are ineligible for federal financial aid. In order to regain eligibility, you must demonstrate that your failure to register for federal financial aid was due to military service, you were born before 1960, or you have documentation of extenuating circumstances that made you incapable of registering with Selective Service. If these conditions cannot be met, then you will remain ineligible for federal financial aid.
