No income requirement or limitations!
Be a California resident.
Just enroll in a minimum of 12 units (12 unit course load for both Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 semesters).
* Students will still need to pay for parking, transportation, textbooks, and/or other fees. No mandatory system-wide fees or tuition of any kind shall be collected by colleges from any surviving spouse or surviving child of a deceased person killed in the performance of active law enforcement or active fire suppression and prevention duties.*
Beginning the in 2016-17 academic year, the California College Promise Grant (formerly Board of Governors or BOG Fee Waiver) implemented academic standards. All grades will be used to determine eligibility for 2016-2017.
Effective Spring 2018 registration students are encouraged to fill out a 2018-2019 FAFSA as the best means to obtain the California College Promise Grant.
Persons in need of assistance with their financial aid file may request a one-to-one appointment with a financial aid staff member. Students may call the Office or visit the FA Lab to schedule an appointment. If an issue cannot be resolved after an appointment, then a Student Action Request form may be filed for additional review and response within 5 business days. Personal or financial aid information cannot be shared over the phone due to FERPA regulations (see http://www.losrios.edu/general_counsel/ferpa.php).
Financial Aid assistance is also available on a limited basis at the Natomas and McClellan Centers.
