Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOP&S) is a California state-funded categorical program at the community college level. At American River College, funding often determines the number of students that are accepted into EOP&S every year. EOP&S also has the Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) program that is geared for college students that are single-parents who have children under the age of 14 years old and meet certain requirements (see below).

All CARE students must first be admitted into the EOP&S program. If you are admitted into EOP&S and CARE, you must attend a mandatory orientation as well as attend two workshops each semester. To be eligible for CARE, you must meet all the following criteria:
