Career Counseling

FEELING UNSURE ABOUT YOUR MAJOR?
CONFUSED ABOUT CAREER CHOICES &
HOW TO NAVIGATE THE SEARCH?

Career counseling appointments are available to ARC students who need assistance choosing a major and making informed decisions about their future careers. Students currently enrolled in at least 1 unit at American River College may schedule an appointment. Career counseling can help you choose a career and major. It can provide the guidance and support needed as you explore, learn about yourself, and take action steps.

WHAT IS CAREER COUNSELING?

Career counseling is a process of learning how to find a career that is aligned with who you truly are and with what is important to you. It is a PROCESS – similar to putting together a jigsaw puzzle. You will need to give it some time, energy, and focus. Putting together your “career puzzle” involves several steps including: exploring careers, prioritizing, making a choice, and creating a plan of action. It involves setting clear intentions, goals, and action steps to help you put together your “puzzle” – the ideal vision of what you want to create in your life and career.

If you are ready to take action, call the Career Center today at
