Placement for Recent High School Graduates
For Students who have graduated from a US high school 10 years ago or less
If you have been placed in an English and/or math class based on your GPA submitted on your application, your placement is listed in your eServices account. Just click on the Student Center tile (under "Steps to Success") or see How to Get Your Placement Results Online to the left.
If you see your placement, and you believe the high school information you submitted is not accurate, please see information concerning our Placement Re-Evaluation Petition (PREP) process.
If English is not your first language and you would prefer to take English as a Second Language courses, please visit the American River College Assessment Center to take the ESL Assessment Test. For Assessment Center location and hours of operation, click on the Assessment Home button to the left. For testing times, click on the Testing Calendar to the left.
If you don’t see your English and/or math placement in your eServices account, choose from the following:
- Students planning to return after an absence should submit a new application, wait one day, and check their eServices account for a placement.
- Currently enrolled ARC students should submit a Placement Re-Evaluation Petition (PREP) to the ARC Assessment Center. Please see information concerning our Placement Re-Evaluation Petition (PREP) process.
