Math Assessment

PLEASE NOTE:
As of June 1, 2011,
the only math placement instrument available at ARC is a
standardized test, the COMPASS math exam (see below)
This test is not available online.
 ***
The Math Self-Assessment
is only available as a reference tool
for students to review
the type of math problems
they can expect in each math course.

The COMPASS math exam is a standardized test for students who wish to enroll in any math course at ARC, or who may want to take a math course at another Los Rios college. It is not available online. It is only available in the Assessment Center on the ARC Main Campus or at the Natomas Center.

Math COMPASS test preparation workshops information.

The Math Self-Assessment is no longer available for course placement. It can only provide information about most of the math courses offered at ARC. When you choose a course in the Self-Assessment System, it will provide a sample of problems that you should already be able to do before you begin that course. You must have a valid Los Rios ID number to begin this process. From the time your ID number is generated, you will have to wait 24 hours to access this process.
