The Foreign Language Laboratory is designed to provide students and faculty at American River College engaging media to support and enhance language learning. The Lab offers materials for students studying Spanish, Italian, French, German and Russian. Currently, the lab offers Spanish 131 which enables language learners to develop, expand, and reinforce multiple Spanish language skills while working independently and/or in small groups. It also offers multimedia equipped computers with language-learning software in Spanish, Italian and German and access to videos/DVDs in many languages. At this time, there is tutoring and assistance in Spanish available during hours posted outside the lab and on the Foreign Language Department Website.

SPAN 131 Foreign Language Lab: Integrated Topics in Spanish

Course Description:
This laboratory course enables Spanish learners to develop, expand,and reinforce multiple Spanish language skills while working independently and/or in small groups. Coursework includes integrated study topics related to vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, listening, and oral skills covered in SPAN 401, 402, and 411. Students may register until the twelfth week of the semester as space permits and may earn .5 unit of credit for every 27 hours of work or may earn one unit of credit for 54 hours of work. This course is graded credit/no-credit.
