The Gilman Scholarship: Your Key to the World

ARC Honors student Muhammad Shahbaz describes his summer in Florence, where he studied the influence of Islam on science in the Renaissance, using resources provided by the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program. Learn about opportunities available for ARC students to obtain financial aid to travel and study abroad.

Honors Reads Between Meals: Stories and Recipes from California's Refugee Women

ARC Anthropology Professor Kristina Casper-Denman discusses Dani Fisher and Lauren Markham's 2014 "narrative cookbook," in which they tell the stories of refugees in the Bay Area, who arrive in the US with their cultures and foodways intact. Learn how to be a better, more inclusive global citizen-one bowl at a time.

Honors Reads A New Religious America

November 2, 12:15-1:15 in Raef Hall 160

Join ARC Humanities Professor William Lester, who will moderate a panel discussion of the impact that immigration has had on the religious diversity of the United States. The discussion will be based on Harvard Professor Diana Eck's 2002 study, A New Religious America: How A "Christian Country" Has Become the World's Most Religiously Diverse Nation.
