I have been a professor in the Political Science Department at American River College since 2002.  Prior to then I taught part time at various Sacramento area colleges.  I am originally from New Hampshire and earned my B.A. in Government and Public Policy from Eastern Connecticut State University.  Along the way to earning my B.A., I lived and studied in New York City and interned in Washington D.C.  Soon after, I moved to California and earned my M.A. in Political Science at UC Davis.

I am an active member of the American Political Science Association (APSA), a leading professional organization for the study of political science, and regularly serve on committees to promote quality  teaching and education about politics and government.

When I am not working, I like to spend time with my family and friends.  I am an avid runner, enjoy being out and about in my local community, and love to travel.  I am fortunate that I am able to do all those things regularly.
