The word "community" is part of the college's name, and for good reason. Partnering with other community organizations, decision makers, and public institutions, American River College works to move the community forward through education, economic development and cultural enrichment.
Community involvement programs include sponsorship of certain college events, joint discussions on important issues of local interest, and promoting increased awareness of the value of a college degree through communications and visibility in the community.
In addition, two auxiliary groups, the ARC Foundation and the ARC Patrons, are made up primarily of community members who have committed themselves to supporting the college and its students. You will find more information on these groups on the menu at right.
