Otter Project Interns
Research experience for ARC students
A select group of American River College students serve as research interns with the Sacramento Valley Otter Project. Interns are trained in river otter survey techniques and habitat analysis protocols, they gain experience in the field as well as in data management, public outreach, and mapping. Otter project interns not only have a lot of fun outside, they also get to participate in a scientific study as members of a research team, an experience not always available to community college students.
To be eligible for an internship, students must be recommended by an instructor in the Natural Resources Department and should complete NATR310.
