What is Adapted Physical Education?
Adapted Physical Education at American River College provides students with disabilities an opportunity to participate in physical activities in a positive learning environment. Students are actively involved in appropriate activities that promote muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, and sport skills. The goal of the program is to give each student the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a lifelong involvement in physical activity, leading to an enhanced quality of life.
